Commercial support for income generation and growth

Baxendale’s commercial support service supports health and social care and other public service providers to:

• Develop new sources of income
• Grow by expanding the services they offer
• Reduce their reliance on certain contracts

You might already have a good idea of existing services or intellectual property that are ripe for income generation, but if not, we will start with a portfolio assessment to find the areas with highest potential to commercialise. We will evaluate the options and help you select the initiatives that most closely align with your vision, values and system requirements.

Once we are agreed on where to focus, we will help you map the competitive landscape and understand potential to charge for services where appropriate.

Our team will work with yours to develop the operating model for the new service, and test the appetite of potential partners to work with you. At this stage we will support you to engage with commissioners where appropriate, ensuring that the new service will complement and enhance the external operating environment.

We will build a financial model to explore different scenarios and provide reassurance that the chosen operating model will be financially sustainable.

We will support you to develop a business case using the HMT five case model, bringing in legal expertise as needed.

Our communications and engagement plan will help generate buy-in from your internal and external stakeholders.

After supporting you to gain Board sign-off, we will help you to turn your plan into a reality by providing ongoing project management, communications and mobilisation support.
